A Quiet Crisis in Central Missouri
Throughout Central Missouri — from cities and small towns to rural communities — immigrant families are facing immense challenges without access to local support systems.
Many areas have:
- No translation assistance
- No culturally adept organizations
- No advocacy programs
- No emergency assistance resources
Como Comunidad is already receiving calls from families, schools, and local groups across the region asking for help.

The next several years will bring significant challenges for immigrant communities nationwide—and Missouri is already feeling the impact. Uncertainty, fear, and policy shifts are creating stress for families who are simply trying to work, live, and raise their children. These pressures are already causing families to retreat from community life, hesitate to seek help, and face crises alone.
This is why we are calling for ongoing monthly support, not just one-time generosity. Our community needs steady, reliable strength behind them—much like a luchador who steps into the ring, confidence comes from knowing someone is in their corner.
Our Impact So Far
Como Comunidad has already made a measurable difference in Central Missouri. Together with partners and supporters, we have delivered over 1,200 lbs of food to food-insecure families, translated and distributed more than 1,500 community resource materials, assisted families in purchasing their first homes and securing stable housing, helped families access trusted legal resources and healthcare services, including specialty services, and responded to crises throughout Central Missouri.
Together, we are building a community where no one is left to face these challenges alone.
