Emergency Response
At Como Comunidad, we believe that no challenge should be faced in isolation. That’s why we’ve launched the Emergency Response Fund—a vital lifeline for families in crisis. With your support, we can ensure that when a family reaches out for help, we are ready to respond.

Education
We believe that education is the foundation for empowerment. Many tasks that might seem simple, like opening a bank account, signing children up for school, or purchasing a car, can become daunting for individuals unfamiliar with U.S. systems. Our educational programs will provide classes and videos that bridge cultural and language gaps, helping families integrate into their communities with greater ease.
Our educational opportunities will be available for both parents and children, ensuring that the entire family benefits from the knowledge shared. We’re committed to offering practical information that can be applied in everyday life.
Looking to Get Involved?
We are actively seeking partners and volunteers who are passionate about education. Whether it’s through teaching, creating educational content, or offering your expertise, we’d love to connect with you!

Language Access
Language barriers are one of the biggest obstacles preventing individuals from fully participating in their communities. At Como Comunidad, we currently offer limited translation services and plan to expand into English and Spanish as a second language classes.
We help individuals who approach us directly, and we also consult with businesses and organizations to identify gaps in their services for the Hispanic community. By making businesses more accessible to Spanish speakers, we help create opportunities for better service to current employees and clients, as well as new business potential.
Interested in Volunteering or Partnering?
We are looking for volunteers and partners to assist with teaching language classes and providing translation services. Your support can help bridge critical gaps in education, employment, and healthcare for the Hispanic community.

Housing
Access to safe and affordable housing is crucial for a thriving community. At Como Comunidad, we aim to help individuals and families navigate the complex world of housing, whether it’s through locating affordable homes, offering guidance on housing programs, or assisting with transitional housing.
We understand that finding secure housing can be challenging for many, and our goal is to provide support that helps individuals and families not just find homes, but settle in communities where they can grow and prosper.

Healthcare Access
Navigating the U.S. healthcare system can be confusing—especially for families coming from different countries and systems. Simple questions, like when to use urgent care versus the emergency room, can become real barriers to getting help.
At Como Comunidad, we help bridge language gaps and provide clear, practical education so families can better understand their options. Our goal is to connect our community with affordable, trusted healthcare and empower individuals to confidently access the care they need.
Looking to the Future
Our Plans for 2026 and Beyond
As we continue to grow, we plan to expand our work into several critical areas:
Addiction and Rehabilitation
Missouri has very few facilities that can adequately support Spanish speakers, leaving a significant gap in care. Often, the only communication available between patients and doctors is through phone or video translation, which can hinder effective treatment. This language barrier forces many families to deal with addiction and rehabilitation issues within their homes without the necessary professional support.
Economic Opportunity
we believe that economic opportunity is essential for building thriving, self-sustaining communities. As we grow, we plan to offer job training programs, employment services, and small business support to empower individuals and families.
